On March 9, 2022 , Mayor Eric Garcetti signed Executive Directive 33, which creates the City of Los Angeles Tourism Cabinet, calls for the implementation of the 22 recommendations outlined in the Tourism Master Plan, and appoints CTD Executive Director Doane Liu as the City's Chief Tourism Officer. This Cabinet is composed of department general managers and will develop strategies to maintain LA’s position as a leading destination, identify a path for sustainable growth of tourism, and ensure that new activity delivers strong benefits directly to Angelenos.
